Tanauan Institute Field Trip 2023 May 14, 2023, Tanauan Institute held an “Lakbay Aral” at Pampanga. We have the wonderful opportunity to be a part of this educational trip to the former U.S. Air Base -- Clark Field in Angeles City Pampanga, Dinosaur Island, San Agustin Church and the biggest Sky Ranch in San Fernando, Pampanga. This all-day excursion was organized by the SGB office and officers of Tanauan Institute.  With many busloads of eager and excited college students, the group left with an assigned tour guide on each bus and off we went on an almost 4-hours joy/tiring ride.      Let me share you a story of young man who has been trapped on being discriminated because of their social status. This young man belongs to the poorest of the poor families who lives in a shanty area of his province. And such discrimination led to his mental disorder and later on died.       Discrimination is said to be the unfair or prejudicial treatment of people and groups based on characteristics such as race, gender, age or sexual orientation. It is how people treat others badly because they are different from them. We ca be discriminated based on the way we look, based on the person's lifestyle, their choice of clothing, their age or their disabilities whether they are a member of or fit in with a social clique (group), social class, socia l status or caste, and many other reasons. “THE AUTHOR”   Lhea Mhay Balmes Aliwalas is currently enrolled as a third-year student at Tanauan Institute at Tanauan City Batangas taking Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English. She is 21 years old from Balibago, Lobo Batangas but currently living in Zone 1 Talisay Batangas. She was born and raised at Balibago, Lobo Batangas. And she came from a broken family. Her father left when she was 4 years old and for her this is the most heartbreaking memory. In elementary she graduated at Balibago Elementary School.
